Further Formatting Tips

Paragraph indent
Simply type : before the text you want to indent. For example, :333.7 UCD produces:

333.7 UCD

Line Breaks

To create a break between lines there are two options:

  • Press enter twice. This will start a new paragraph and leave a blank space between the two lines of text. e.g.

The cat sat on the mat

Humpty Dumpty fell off the wall

  • Type <br> at the end of the line. The next line will start imediately below, e.g.

The cat sat on the mat
Humpty Dumpty fell off the wall

Aligning Text
To align text to the left of the page, in the centre or to the right type:
Left: <text-align:left>
Centre: <text-align:center>
Right: <text-align:right>

Coloured text
To produce red text type <font color="red">TEXT YOU WANT IN RED</font>. For example, typing:

Saint <font color="red">Augustine</font>

Gives you:

Saint Augustine

Changing the size of text
You can change the size of text by typing:
<font size="+2">TEXT YOU WANT MADE BIGGER OR SMALLER</font>. For example, typing:

Saint <font size="+2">Augustine</font>

Gives you:

Saint Augustine
